NEOPULP
The reader page

Tell the reader what they're holding

A ready-made page for your back matter. It tells the reader what a neopulp is and why it's nothing to apologize for: the price of trying a creative idea just collapsed, and the mark means a person created this one, shaped it, judged it, and stands behind every word. It makes the promise, and it carries a code that brings the reader here. Copy the text into your manuscript or drop in the print-ready PDF — either way, keep the wording exactly as it is, so the page means the same thing in every book that carries the mark.

What it says

A NOTE TO THE READER

This book is a neopulp.

A neopulp is a book a person created, shaped and judged — and a machine wrote with them. The author is the one who takes responsibility for it: I created this, I shaped it, I judged it, and I stand behind it.

Before the machine, trying an idea could cost years, so most ideas were never tried. The creative book stayed a note in a drawer. The machine removes that friction, and the creative book gets made. Pulp democratized publishing. Neopulp democratizes experimentation.

The mark tells you what was done with that freedom: a human created this book, shaped it, judged it, and wouldn't sign it until every word was one they'd stand behind. It says so on the title page, without hedging, because a new medium is nothing to apologize for. Ask the camera.

A book isn't good because a human wrote every word, and it isn't bad because a machine wrote any of them. Judge the work first. The means of creation are not the measure of it. You will decide.

A human vision, perfected.

The copied text carries a placeholder line marking where the QR code sits. Last page of back matter is the natural home; facing the title page also works.

It points here. Generated with high error correction, so it scans reliably off matte paperback stock. Print it at least 20mm square, press black on stock, clear space on all sides — and always keep the URL printed beneath it, because some readers won't scan.

Print-ready PDF

The full page, set in Archivo and JetBrains Mono at 6″ × 9″ trim, one ink. Drop it straight into a standard trade paperback interior; for other trim sizes, copy the text instead and set it yourself.

Goes with the mark, not instead of it: the stamp and credit line still belong on the cover and title page. Mark rules →
